Simon Northrop – MD and Chief Sailmaker

With a passion for sailing and particularly racing Simon skills led him to campaign an Olympic Tornado catamaran competing at international level for several seasons –

In 1992 Simon setup Northrop Sails to provide a key Sail-making service to boat owners in the South East and has seen all there is to see regarding Sails !!!

Still racing IRC yachts locally and Formula 18 Catamarans he is regularly seen competing at World Championship Level and has plenty of National titles to his name !

Alwyn Allsop – Chief Cover maker

Having worked for a well known South West Country sailmaker whilst fitting out his 34 Foot Gaff Cutter Alwyn left the Uk to explore the worlds oceans for 20 years. In his time away he continued to make and repair covers and canopies in various ports to develop his skills even further.

Alwyn returned to the Uk in 2016 and joined the team at Northrop Sails as Chief Cover maker.

His attention to detail and willingness to go the extra mile for our clients needs is second to none.

In his spare time Alwyn is a Talented Musician and loves nothing more than playing the Violin, Guitar and Painting.
